"Calliope!" the scream tore through the now silent air. Ember ran to catch her. I felt tears spring to my eyes. Blood was pooling around her as Ember gently laid her down. Her eyes fluttered open.
"Get.. to camp.. stay.. safe. take knives. map. Stephen. Magic.. camp." the life went out of her eyes and she went limp.
"No!!!!!!!" i sobbed. "Calliope, no! say something, anything!" I felt a gentle touch on my shoulder. Ember was nuzzling me. I leaned on her and kept sobbing.

I frowned. Percy said something about, like, a lost camper, a dead sister and ghosts? It was all quite confusing. Flame, shrouded in the mist, flew over New York.
I kicked Flame downwards, into a dive near the Empire State building. Maybe I could drop by to the 600th floor.. but then again maybe not. I had a damsel in distress who was probably Hades's to save! I rolled my eyes at the thought. No child of Hades i've met has ever been a damsel in distress. I laughed at the thought as without my steering Flame crashed into a building.
