Chapter 3
"Triton? Like the immortal guy?" I asked him
"Yeah that's me. Well you must be dad's half blood kid. How's your brother Percy ? Still got an attitude problem?" He asked with distaste.
"Percy? I don't know him. Is he a guy with dark black hair and sea green eyes?" I said.
Riatta glared at Triton. "Never mind. Come with us. " she said in a hurry "lord Poseidon wants to meet you."
They swam downward through the floorleless rooms and I saw that I was in a room on the third floor. I observed Riatta looked at least somewhat like the Disney princess Ariel. Except for her green skin and golden eyes (which disturbed me) she was quite pretty.
Whereas Triton on the other hand looked really weird to me. He had two fish tails instead of one like the others and green skin like Riatta. He had long black hair which was tied in a ponytail. They slowed down and turned around. I had stopped. I realised what I was doing and continued to follow them.
I had never been so nervous and terrified at the same time in my entire life. Even in my dreams I never thought I was going to meet a god one day. I was wondering whether Poseidon would look like what he does in my school textbooks. I tried hard to keep up with the two of them.
"Does Poseidon look....like his statues or something?" I asked. Seeing the look on their faces I thought I had said something wrong. But Riatta just laughed and said "No he doesn't. The gods appearance adapts with the change in culture. So lord Poseidon's appearance will be according to the western civilization."
My ADHD brain didn't get that but I understood enough to know that Poseidon won't be old with a flowing white beard.
"We are here" Riatta said turning back. "I should go home. My mom will be worried." She smiled at me and held out her hand. "Nice meeting you Sophia. I hope you'll come and visit me often."
I took her hand "of course I will. Nice meeting you too!"
She swam downwards and we moved forward. On our right there was a glow of light far away. I stared at utopian wondering what it could be. Triton said "those are the forges. Cyclops work there. They make weapons for our warriors."
I saw someone coming towards us. As he came closer, I saw that he had only one big, brown eye. He blinked several times and waved at me. I turned to Triton and raised my eyebrows. "That's Tyson. He is a Cyclops. He's your half brother too."
Tyson yelled "brother!" He came in front of us and looked at me. "Who is this?"
Triton said "Tyson, this is uh..your sister...Percy's sister, Sophia."
Tyson made a squeaking noise and crushed me in a bear hug. "Tyson...can't ....breathe..." I choked. He let me go and said "Sorry. Come let's go to the palace. Daddy is waiting."
CHAPTER 4
Chapter 4
We swam to the end of a long hallway and shot upwards on a geyser. As we rose over rooftops, I stared around in astonishment. The palace was enormous with wide courtyards, gardens and columned pavilions. They were sculpted with coral colonies and had glowing sea plants and shells scattered here and there. The paths were lined with glowing pearls. Fish and merpeople swam here and there.
We suddenly stopped in front of a huge door. Two guards stood outside and as soon as they saw Triton, they let us pass.
We entered a room with a really high ceiling which was studded with a million glittering pearls and other stones that seemed to give out light that filled the room. At the end of the room, there were three thrones. Poseidon sat on one with his queen by his side. The other one I figured must be for Triton. Tyson kneeled in front of the thrones and I did the same. Triton went and sat on the throne which was empty.
"Rise." Said a voice.
I got up to my feet. Tyson spoke "daddy, this is Sophia. My sister."
Poseidon looked at me for a while and his eyes softened. "your Vanessa's daughter. So long since I saw her. How..."
The queen of the seas cleared her throat. "My lord..." she began.
"Sorry, my dear." Poseidon said. "Sophia, How did you end up here? Two days ago there was an explosion near the coast of long island and some of my people saw you falling into the water."
"That was my fault.I don't know what happened. If Greek myths are real then that thing that attacked my mom and my sister must be the .............." I said.
"You have a sister?" Poseidon said "I don't remember any sister."
"She is my aunt's daughter. She was staying with us for while. We were at a pizza place and she had gone with my mom to the washroom...and they were attacked. But according what Triton told me, if I was the halfblood then I should have have been attacked....I don't understand." I said. I felt like I wanted to cry.
The queen asked "is your mother and sister dead?"
Her voice was much kinder now. I guess she felt sorry for me or something.
"I don't know. I did something and the water rose and there was something like a hurricane and an earthquake combined and everything was destroyed. There were red sparks flying from all around me. I was 4 feet high up in the air and I fell into the sea."
I had left out something though. The fact that I had other special powers. I had a feeling maybe my immortal father already knew about it.
Poseidon was silent for a while. "The earthquake and the hurricane are my fault. Those are some powers you inherited from me.You are more powerful than i thought." He sounded pretty worried.
Tyson spoke "but daddy where did the red sparks come from?" He was silent for so long, I had forgotten he was there.
"I'm not sure..." he said. The queen looked at him. He looked older suddenly. Suddenly I heard something. I turned around and saw that there was no one. Then I realised something. I stared at Tyson.
It was Tyson's voice I had heard, but he didn't seemed to have spoken at all. Then I realised I had heard his thoughts. I must have looked really puzzled because Poseidon asked "Is anything wrong, my dear? You look terrible."
"No...no nothing." I said. I was extremely worried. "Dad, where do I go now? back home.....?"
"No." Poseidon said. "You must go to camp half-blood. Tyson will take you there first thing tomorrow morning."
